On Monday, September 24 and Tuesday, September 25, B-Hive organized a FinTech Hackathon in Brussels together with several major institutions, including BNP Paribas, Ethias and Mastercard. With this Hackathon, B-Hive wanted to give young, promising technology companies the chance to prove themselves in front of some of the largest financial institutions.
Niek De Taeye, COO of B-Hive and organizer of the Hackathon, explains: "The Hackathon is a two-day event where participants connect with experts from our partners, so they can offer a solution to the problems our partners are facing. The goal is then to pitch that solution to a jury of experts and come up with a Proof of Concept."
The initiative was part of B-Hive's ‘Digital Week’, which invited a range of European companies and financial institutions to an exciting week that, alongside the Hackathon, also featured the Digital Finance Europe event in Brussels and Supernova in Antwerp.
The Hackathon offered several tracks in which participating companies could showcase their skills. EMASPHERE was ultimately selected as the winner of the ‘Financial Management for SMEs & Professionals’ track, and the following day had the opportunity to pitch the concept at the Digital Finance Europe event at the National Bank of Belgium.
