AI fueled by unvalidated, fragmented data is the single greatest risk in modern business management. When Large Language Models (LLMs) try to interpret raw spreadsheets or siloed databases, they hallucinate. To get reliable answers, you don't need to switch to a different AI or program yet another custom agent... You need to change the data it consumes.
Today at EMAsphere, we are bringing this semantic infrastructure directly to the core of Anthropic's Claude. Built natively on the Model Context Protocol (MCP), the open standard for connecting AI assistants to secure, external systems, the EMAsphere connector allows you to query your data and analyze your company's performance directly in natural language (meaning you can converse just as easily as you would with a human colleague).
What does this mean in practice? Instead of exporting static reports or building fragile data pipelines, you simply ask Claude your question, and it extracts trustworthy answers from the exact same financial engine that powers your EMAsphere application. Claude doesn't just read raw lines: it natively speaks the language of finance, interacting directly with your Key Performance Indicators (KPIs), consolidated tables, and analytical axes.
Discover how EMAsphere utilizes the MCP protocol to connect the generative AI Claude to the reality of your financial data. Here is our step-by-step breakdown and the procedure to activate it today.
The connector exposes the EMAsphere financial model to Claude as a set of specialized tools, organized into three families.
Configuration actions require the relevant configuration permissions on the entity, in addition to MCP access (see Prerequisites).
Before retrieving any figure, Claude reads your accessible entities, currencies, and consolidation scopes, so that an analysis runs against the correct perimeter for your organization. Claude can also present its own tables and charts inside the conversation to illustrate an analysis.
Connecting EMAsphere to Claude requires no coding and no keys to copy. Authentication uses OAuth 2.1: you are redirected to the official EMAsphere sign-in page, you sign in with your usual credentials, and you authorize access.
From the Connectors Directory (once EMAsphere is listed):
As a custom connector (available now, and for any MCP-compatible client):
A few ways to put it to work. The first examples are read-only analysis; the last two show conversational configuration.
EMAsphere treats the security of your financial data as a priority. The connector is designed with enterprise-grade controls.
Your permissions apply, with no separate access path.
The connector uses the same secure APIs as the EMAsphere web application. Claude acts strictly on your behalf, with your own permissions: it cannot read any data or make any configuration change that you could not already perform yourself in EMAsphere. Access can be ended at any time, by disconnecting the connector on your side or by your administrator removing the MCP Access permission, and tokens expire automatically.
What goes where.
The connector is a secure transport layer, not a storage system. Your prompts and Claude's responses are exchanged directly between you, your Claude client, and Anthropic; they do not pass through EMAsphere, and EMAsphere does not receive or retain your conversation content. On the EMAsphere side we keep only operational logs of the connector. The financial data returned by a tool call reaches Anthropic to answer your question; what Anthropic then retains is governed by your own Anthropic plan and settings (for example Claude Enterprise, Team, or API Zero Data Retention) and by Anthropic's data-handling policy, which EMAsphere does not control. EMAsphere does not share AI Connector data with any other third party.
Grounded answers you can check.
The figures Claude reports are retrieved from EMAsphere's consolidated data layer, and you can check any answer against its source in EMAsphere (the underlying data, the business rule, or the KPI definition). As with any AI assistant, you stay in control: review Claude's analysis before acting on it, the same way you would review a colleague's.
