Peers Group digitizes its management consolidation
Specializing in organizational consulting, Peers Group supports companies across all sectors in their transformation. Since it was founded in 2012, the company has grown fast and now has 9 subsidiaries in France, Switzerland, Turkey and Morocco, with more than 180 employees. With EMASPHERE connected to Sage, its CFO now produces his 10 monthly reports without reworking them in Excel.

Moving on from Excel reporting
Every month, Thierry Guelfi, Group CFO, HR & Legal at Peers Group, sends out 10 different reports: a consolidated report for executive management and one report per subsidiary for each subsidiary director. Before EMASPHERE, all these reports were built in Excel, a time-consuming, low-value process. The CFO ran multiple extractions from his Sage accounting software, then reworked each file by hand to create a report for each entity, and then the consolidated report.
“Once my 9 reports were built, I combined them in a new file to get a consolidated view. But if an accounting entry was missing, I had to repeat every step, which was tedious. Some files also had several thousand rows, so processing took a long time. It was all the more stressful when my management committee met an hour later and I had to present up-to-date results.”
To save time building his consolidated reports, Thierry Guelfi now relies on EMASPHERE. The solution connects to his Sage accounting software, models and structures all the company’s data, and automatically turns it into dashboards and management indicators.
“Excel isn’t the best tool for consolidated reporting. EMASPHERE now saves me a lot of time producing my reports. As soon as I make a change in my accounts, it shows up in my EMASPHERE reporting in a few clicks, without any extracts or data manipulation. So my reporting always matches my accounts.”

Now everything is online, and everyone works from the same information to analyze and make decisions.
Group and subsidiary views in one click
Beyond producing reports, the company benefits from visualization features that give it a consolidated group report and a report for each entity, with the option to compare them.
“We have many companies in France and abroad. In EMASPHERE, we can switch in one click between a consolidated group view and a view of one specific subsidiary. The solution also separates out intercompany transactions, so each entity has its own line for flows between companies.”
With the sub-consolidation features, Thierry Guelfi can analyze net figures for the group or for several entities, with the relevant intercompany transactions eliminated automatically.
Thanks to drill-down (detail right down to the accounting entry) and analytical management, Thierry Guelfi can now spend more time on analysis.

Drill-down to the accounting entry
“By clicking on any figure, I can see the detail right down to the accounting entry, which lets me check that the data entered in the accounts is reliable,” explains Thierry Guelfi.

Easier communication
Every month, Thierry Guelfi sent a copy of the report to the subsidiary directors, which multiplied the number of files and created versioning problems. And with every change, the CFO had to send an updated report to the director concerned.
“Today, once I’ve validated the reporting in the platform, I make it available to the right people. Each director gets a notification and can log in to EMASPHERE to view their results. That avoids sending files by email and having multiple versions of reports. Now everything is online, and everyone works from the same information to analyze and make decisions.”
Every version of the reporting is archived in EMASPHERE, so Peers Group can go back to previous situations at any time, making its results easier to analyze and understand.
The drill-down feature is also very useful for smoother communication between the CFO and his subsidiary directors.
